"What is IndustryNexus?" Our subscriber base is growing, so it's a good time for me to reiterate what this site is all about. It began as a Networking Group that Mark Weathers began, and he asked me to help turn it into a website. (Some of you may remember me from HollywoodMomentum.) It's grown organically into a place where writers can contribute pieces (all entertainment based) and young executives and assistants can search for jobs. We're a community based site, so that's why we ask you to register. This allows you to network with other people who are also registered on the site. (Try it out, it's fun.) For all questions about dodgeball games, after hours parties, our deal with The Improv in Hollywood (we get free tickets to Wed night "Comedy Juice" shows), email Mark at

“Happy Thanksgiving, Dog.” Those are the words of the best friend of my new downstairs neighbor. I have no idea what this guy’s name is, but I’m very familiar with this voice, because I hear it all the time, day or night. When I first moved into this building, my downstairs neighbor was a woman named Joan Jeffries, who I occasionally heard leaving early in the morning, but I only ever saw her once or twice. I assumed she traveled a lot, or was a vampire, or a member of the CIA. |

I have always argued that TV is an educational vehicle. This didn’t always get me far when I was 10 and wanted to stay up for the grown up shows but it didn’t stop me from sticking with the premise. When you hear educational TV, it conjures up images of PBS totes and a lion stalking a gazelle. Oftentimes, you’d be right. But oddly, the age of reality TV ushered in a new era of learning for me, one that involved a lot of “journeys” “discovery” and “processes.” |

Perhaps appropriately for one so obscurely-titled, Quantum of Solace is a rather odd duck as Bond films go. The first direct sequel in franchise history, it picks up mere minutes after the close of Casino Royale, with Daniel Craig’s badass, brokenhearted superspy attempting to ferry his prize to a safehouse in hopes of learning more about the organization that led his lady love to her tragic demise. |

I eye my Trader Joe’s meatless meatball supper with loathing. If I were an eight-year-old still living at home, I might protest with a whine, “Meatless meatballs, again?” |
