Almost Famous PDF Print E-mail

“That’s it!  Perfect!  Now hold that pose!”  My friend Joan says as I stand with my hand fashionably affixed to my hip outside of the Waffle, a new diner on Sunset Blvd. in the heart of Hollywood.

“Oh my gosh, this is so great!”  Joan giggles as she frantically snaps pictures of me on her digital camera, pausing to check the images after each shot.  A small crowd of people waiting outside the restaurant begin to stare at me.

"Who do you think she looks like?”  Joan asks a young girl gawking nearby.

The Sex and the City Movie: It’s Fun PDF Print E-mail
Written by Veronica

As I stand by the escalator outside the Sherman Oaks Arclight movie theatres on the opening weekend of the Sex and the City movie, I feel a flush of panic.  It is already 3:52 pm and my three girl friends are still no where in sight.  With only eight minutes to go before the other girly movie previews begin, I frantically begin texting my friends.  We can not miss this film.

About Veronica

When nine-year-old Veronica’s 5th grade teacher asked her where she saw herself in twenty years, Veronica proudly declared her desire to be a journalist working for the San Francisco Chronicle.  Flash-forward fifteen years.  Veronica didn’t major in journalism, even though she went to Northwestern University; only moved 40 miles north of her hometown of Newport Beach, California, as opposed to 400 miles to San Francisco; and spends more time reading scripts than reading the newspaper.  Course that doesn’t keep her from dreaming that she will one day be able to call herself a “writer.”  When Veronica is not fantasizing about her future life, she enjoys eating out at fancy schmancy restaurants that she can’t afford, reviewing them on www.yelp.com, exercising like a masochist on speed, and spending time with her friends, family, and laptop, Lucy.
