Dear Reason, I work at an agency, and while on a smoke break, one of the other assistants was bragging about the (married) actor she was having an affair with. One of her boss's clients. Should I tell someone? Too Much Info
Dear TMI, I have a four word answer for this one, darling. Keep your mouth shut. Don’t get caught up in these games of indiscretion. Really, this is none of your business. Unless you’re fooling around with him too, you have no reason to get involved. Someone who’s running her mouth off like that is going to get her self caught with or with out your help. You’d be foolish to become a tattletale - for several reasons. First of all, you don’t know if what she’s saying is true. If it is true, you don’t know if he drunkenly kissed her at some bar and she’s turned it into a full fledged affair, or if he just flirted with her and she’s delusional, or if they actually are sleeping together. The point is you don’t know what’s really going on. But more importantly, what do you think you’ll get out of being the informant in this situation? There’s no way to break this news to an employer with out looking like a brownnoser. People will stop trusting you if you go running to the boss with personal info on both the employee and the client. This business requires A LOT of discretion. This girl has none, but you don’t need to prove it to anyone. This one’s cut and dry honey. This assistant’s made her own bed – don’t lie in it with her. The Voice of ReasonSend questions to

Reason started her career in entertainment in her parent’s living room staging the musical “Annie” with the neighborhood kids. Since then, she’s had stints in both New York and Los Angeles working in film, theater, and television. Reason resided in Manhattan for six years, where she interned for an independent film company and then went back to her roots to work for the producers of Avenue Q, Baz Luhrmann’s Production of Puccini’s La Bohome, and Rent, among others. In 2004 Reason moved to La-La land where she was faced with traffic, perpetual sun, and the world of television. Reason landed a plum job working for a major network and after several months of wondering whether or not she should just go back to school to be a kindergarten teacher, was recently promoted off of a desk. In hindsight, it was well worth the wait.
