Screaming Fit #5

Friday morning. Asshole Midget hasn’t even made it into the office yet and already we are fighting. I don’t remember about what. But when he says to me that everybody hates me, that’s it. He hangs up on me. I look at Helen and she looks at me in horror.

I’m leaving,” I tell her. “Will you be ok here without me?”  She answers yes.

It is 10:30am and I leave the office for the weekend. Helen knows where to reach me though. One of the client’s agents had a question that only I have the answer to and she gives him my cell number. He calls me and I answer his question. He then says to me, “I don’t know how you stand him.”

I don’t either. I don’t deserve this kind of treatment from him. Helen tells me that he called Famous Actress. “Do you know what is wrong with Anonymous Assistant?”  From someone that wants me “removed” from her life, why would he even involve her in something like this?  Is his point that he wants me to look unprofessional? Maybe. She brought this incident up to me once, not because she cared about what caused the incident but more like she was surprised that it happened at all.

All weekend, Asshole Midget tries to find me. All weekend he calls me home. “Are you even going to show up on Monday? You need to figure things out. I can’t talk to you when you are so emotional.”

Finally I call him on Sunday night. I had sufficiently calmed down by then. (Yes, it took me almost three days to do so.) “Yes, I will be there on Monday.”

But we were at a standoff. There was no way things could get ever get better.
